Ao circular na A1, a primeira referência que irá encontrar será o sinal/painel com indicação de proximidade do Castelo de Montemor-o-Velho. 2 Kms depois (ao Km 198) deverá sair em Coimbra Norte e tomar a A14 em direcção à Figueira da Foz, até Montemor-o-Velho.
Se viaja no sentido sul/norte, como alternativa à A1, pode tomar em Lisboa a A8, continuar pela A17 e sair na Figueira da Foz para a A14 (direcção Coimbra) até Montemor-o-Velho. Este itinerário é mais curto, mais plano e portanto mais económico.
DE COMBOIO
A CP dispõe de Comboios Regionais, Inter-Regionais e alguns Inter-Cidades, que efectuam paragens na estação de Alfarelos. Esta estação situa-se a 5 Km da vila de Montemor e tem praça de táxis. Pode também optar por viajar em Serviço Alfa ou Inter-Cidades até à cidade de Coimbra e aí mudar para a Linha Sub-Urbana Coimbra/Figueira da Foz até Alfarelos (não aconselhamos o apeadeiro de Montemor-o-Velho por não ter praça de táxis).

Pode viajar para Coimbra com a Rede Nacional de Expressos. De Coimbra para Montemor-o-Velho a ligação é efectuada pela empresa Moisés Correia de Oliveira, mas apenas durante o dia. As paragens de autocarro encontram-se próximas das estações da CP - Coimbra A e B - e na Avenida Fernão de Magalhães junto ao Edifício Coimbra.
