Info Torna, come ogni, anno, la Festa delle Regina, una giornata di grande festa per tutta l’Olanda. E tutti i Paesi Bassi, non solo Amsterdam, si colora di arancione, il colore nazionale. In questa data si festeggiava il compleanno della regina madre, Juliana e, per tradizione, ormai anche quello dell’attuale regina Beatrix. La giornata assume il nome di “koninginnedag” (giorno della regina).
In tutto il paese è tutta un'occasione di mercatini, sound systems, parate, cibi tradizionali e tante bandiere.
In alcuni luoghi dell'Olanda le cose si muovono già dalla vigilia, il 29 aprile, per festeggiare la notte della regina.
Imperdibile il 30 il mercatino delle pulci del quartiere Jordaan ad Amsterdam: gli olandesi svuotano soffitte e cantine per vendere tutto ciò che non serve più; prendono posto in strada addirittura la sera prima e si dice che i migliori acquisti si facciano la mattina molto presto.
